Read the owner's manual.
The jacking point's are on the sill panels & there are arrow's pressed into the sill panel to indicate this.
The sill jacking point's are also much thicker too. Like 5mm thick! You won't do any damage at all.
You don't need any fancy tool's or jacking pad's. It's strong enough.
Where do you think the dealer's put the hoist arm's on all your car's?

I don't believe also that any mechanic who cares would use a trolley jack without rubber pad. Metal on metal is no good it will damage paint and deform metal at these jacking points. (Despite of tough paint on sill panel and stronger metal-the front of the golf is quite heavy).Performance Tunes from $850Wrecking RS OCTAVIA 2 Link
