Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I thought one of the reasons for buying an R32 was subtle anonymity.

Why would you then go the other way with bling?

            To me, they look tacky.

I'm still undecided...I think they do look cool, but I don't know how much they cost; and by the sounds of it, too much. Audi's aren't VW's either, and ''subtle anonymity'' is a good description for the R32 (not after you hear it though). If someone wants to go to that effort and retrofit them, I'll give them huge props because it looks like a bitcchhhh of a job

I liked these on the new audis, and i reckon it suits the style of the r32 pretty well.

                  Rather unattractive bling.

I concur. There's just something not quite right with them...

I know some people love these, but i think the look very cheap and tacky.
there was an R8 behind me one night and i thought it was some ricers with those lights on it. Massive Fail on Audi's behalf.

Not something I would personally do, but it doesn't look half bad. The write up looks really good.

The wiring looks a little over the top, why not just hook it up to the parkers? Or is the idea to have no parkers and just these lights?

Eitherway it does looks like a pretty full on job though.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Yeah I think the idea as "daytime driving LED's" is that they're always on (even if your parkers aren't). I usually drive with my parkers on anyway, but maybe if I had these I wouldn't.
