Just writing my email up now, and I've only just realised that by the time you add on a Cat Converter to the Value Line DP, it ends up at $325, which is only $25 less than the full modular 3" DP at $350.
Does anyone know of any pros/cons of the Value Line DP VS the normal Modular DP? If I'm only saving $25, is it better to get the modular one?
Dark Grey Mk4 Golf, 1.8T GTI conversion, APR stage 1, stock air intake, FMIC, 3" to 2.5" Exhaust, FK AK Street Coils, Black 18" (Avant Garde M310's ?), tinted tails, ...
you talking the one that you can change out the cat for race days?
If so, guess it's only relevant if you plan to track it and you are really serious, I doubt the cat will restrict that much? but honestly don't know :/ I just went the standard 3" DP, because 3" is 3" regardless and this will never be a serious race car so won't ever need to take cat out I figure.
Dunno, they replied to me bloody quick, maybe just ask?
Also, mine is ordered and paid ETA 2nd week of december
Yeah, basically want to know if there's any benefits of either system if I'm always going to leave the cat in. Things like 'easier install' etc. I'm writing it in my email now too.

ok, just waiting for the US to wake up on their Monday morn and reply to my email.
With the shipping, did you guys just use who they suggested/set up? If not, who did you use, and how did you get the shipping quote all sorted?? I'd love to know before I confirm payment....

Did you guys order separate DP and Cat Back? John is talking me into buying a full turbo back system, saying that buying them separately will need some 'fabrication' to make them fit... WTF? Really?
"Yes if you get them separately you will have to do some fabrication to get everything to bolt directly together. The full turbo-back in the end will be the best cost as you will not have to purchase any additional clamps or do any welding on your part."
Really?? I thought you just removed the adapter tip from the DP kit, and it bolted up?

ok, 5am and finally sorted all the info out and paid! That was an ordeal, but won't go on about it now.. sleep time..
Total was $1048 AUD (including shipping and a new dogbone mount) for a full turbo back, 3" to 2.5". PayPal appears to have only given me 0.88c conversion rate, not amazing. Around $400 shipping seems like a waste too.. Lucky Greg got us sorted to start with!! Go Greg!!

Wow, it seems I missed quite a bit. Sorry for not checking the thread over the past few weeks, juggling end of semester exams/assessments and work proved to be quite a challenge.
At this stage I'm still undecided on which exhaust to get but I've managed to narrow it down to a few. It seems you guys ordered some 42DD stuff, have you got it yet and if so would you recommend it? I also found a place which is happy to order me a Milltek cat-back (quick quote over the phone was $1200 installed) so I'm considering getting that then finding a down piper later.
Again sorry for not checking back, now that I have some free time I'll most likely be messing with my car much more (there's a new diverter valve and an amplifier waiting in the garage, now I just have to get off my ass and install them).

Although that is a good price, the most vital part of the TBE system is the down pipe, allowing the turbo to spool freely for the extra power, the cat back is literally just noise. We only ordered the last day or 2 so wont be getting anything until mid december, but for a full TBE landed for under $1000 is almost unheard of, I would seriously recommend getting on board, you save $200 on your quote and get a full TBE landed. Sale ends today....

If you want a better rate always choose the Foreign Amount option with PayPal.
PayPal does not have very competitive exchange rates. ie 88 cents
My bank charges 1.5% for a non Australia bank transaction, as PayPal does not have an Australian account.
My bank charges 2.5% on top of the day rate for foreign amounts, regardless of the origin, ie 91.8 cents + 2.5%
So if I get the foreign amount to hit my card I get a better exchange rate but have to pay 2.5% fee, but avoid the PayPal Rate and the 1.5% fee.
Compare the pair
PayPal $1000 USD in AUD would be $1136.36 (88 cents)
Then my bank would whack on 1.5% $17.045 Total $1153.40
PayPal USD. I see $1000USD hit my card as $1088.39 (91.8 cents)
Then the 2.5% bank fee $27.21 Total $1115.60 $37.80 or about 3.5% better off
Your mileage may vary, check your credit card terms.
