  • possible, but as it only happens when i'm accelerarting, maybe it's the CV..?

Just checked my emails... my ECS order has finnally been shipped, only took em three weeks!

And no idea why they held up the entire order just for the exhaust because they've actually shipped my order in 4 separate packages. odd

    • Had my car serviced by Alastair at Bromspec in Brookvale (NSW), it didn't need much done to it in the end, in fact I had supplied the ECS Stage 2 refresh kit and asked him to fit it but he called me and said I would be wasting my money paying him to do it as the parts on the car are perfectly fine! That's what I like, an honest mechanic, he will get my business again. Anyway the car feels great with a new set of plugs and an oil change, coupled with the new coils I put on yesterday it is so smooth now.

Will get the ECS refresh kit put on later this year when I also replace the shocks and get a new set of wheels, then it can all be done at the same time and setup once.

      • Replaced the rear wiper insert and fuel flap button, and fitted some neat MK6 GTI alloy pedal pads to the missus' MK4 Generation today. Wonder how long before she notices!?

Also have to give it a service and replace the front pads and rotors in the next month or so.

              BMC CDA cold air intake

Found that the AFR is way to rich and the the boost peaked at 18psi from memory but wasn't really consistent so there is work to be done there. Mike who's the tuner there said there's perhaps 10-15kw in fueling alone with the mods it has. So I'm thinking of going stand alone so it can be tuned properly with the mods it has.
I wouldn't mind comparing dyno sheets with you, if you're keen. I'm keen to see how the 2.5" exhaust compares with my 3" one. I'm kind of expecting you to have better mid range power. The difference in tunes might make them incomparable but i still wouldn't mind seeing it.

I'm starting to have thoughts of doing the k04-001 upgrade too.

sounds pretty honest. i've got my stage two refresh hit on it's way right now, but i'm pretty sure i need it, feels very loose around corners (wheels feel like they wonder a bit), and i can see cracks in the controll arm bushes
and am putting new shock and springs also so will be a good time to do it all at once.

how many k's has your car done? im just over 115k...

My car has 107k on the clock and apparently all the bushes in the kit look fine on my car, no sign of any deterioration or cracking.

I'd say they were done prior to you picking it up then - which is nice.

                          • after waiting for over 3 weeks for ECS to ship out my order, it's now taken another 5 days just for UPS to ship it out of the states... they sent it from WADSWORTH, OH, to MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OH, to COLUMBUS, OH, then to LOUISVILLE, KY. Then no doubt when it makes it to Australia (as long as the plane doesn't crash) it'll be another week for customs to add their taxes... making it a 6 week wait. Painful!

Last time i ordered something from ECS on a monday, i had it by the friday!

The week sitting in the depot because they couldnt deliver it to me was more annoying!
                              not gonna use UPS again
