Noooo, it seems the demons never end on this build.
Ha, it's actually been going pretty solid for a while now, nothing's really broken in like 7+ months. And loose turbo bolts are nothing new to me, been dealing with it since stock. I really wanna find a good way to lock them though, specially if I'm gonna be hitting the track regularly. Might try high tensile studs?
nothing worse than loose nuts chaps... hope you manage to find a fix, it must get frustrating having to check them all the time...
i guess you have tried this but what about some high temp locktite type stuff or is that a biatch if you want to remove yer nuts?
Yeah I had a better look last night. It actually looks like the studs backed out of the manifold. Will loctite the studs and see how it holds up. Hope the gasket is okay
How hard is it to do the clutch on the gti? Going to be doing one soon!
surprisingly easy, i mean i was switching between two guides and had to work some things out for my self. But if i where to do it again, i could have the box out in 2-3 hours (without a hoist).
the main things that need to come out are drive shafts, slave cylinder, linkages, selector, starter, various sensors.
very easy cars to work on
EDIT:
this is what the stock luk 1.8t clutch looks like after 150,000k's
