Gah! I once reversed my car with an axle stand still under it. It wasn't holding anything up, was just sitting under there, so no damage, but it was enough to scare me into checking it every time now.
Well that damn rock through the sump saga continues....
Got the sump replaced no problem there, but when the mechanic was running the engine to check for leaks etc he noticed a miss at the top of the revs, might be old plugs so I said, yeah, while its there replace the plugs (one less thing for me to have to do later and with there being not enough hours in the day lately)
while under the bonnet he noticed that the water catch tank looked dirty so a quick check found no glycol but red muddy rusty water in the cooling system (WTF!!! who uses water now days!!)
OK drain/flush replace please, bottom radiator mount of radiator is plastic and it completely disintegrates while he is removing bottom hose (I checked it and its like wet cardboard) so new radiator now, then because the Germans thing plastic is good for coolant systems all the other bits of the coolant system are in as good condition as the radiator was, every time something is moved or touched something else breaks. Lucky the mechanic is across the road from work so I can go check progress (or lack of)
bill is now floating around the 2K mark all because of a stupid pothole.
2001 Bora 4Motion A work in Progress
Next up, Big Brake Kit from ECS, Cold Air Intake, Coilovers.

Didn't finish my wheels for GAD.
Two cv boots split, cV sounds like its failing, control arms getting worse, control arm bush letting go. So no additional spacing and lows me thinks
Self notching not just marking on the driver side.
Will roll past the 200k km mark tomorrow.
Time to get stuck into it after this w.e and freshen up I think.
