I have the same problem as you, already cleaned that seal twice. So filthy.
Might remove the trim/head lining because I suspect my rear drain pipe from the sunroof may have detached. Not looking forward to that.MK4 GTI: Custom Code Stage 2, K03S, 42DD exhaust, Bilsteins, whiteline F&R, 312mm brakes

ok well i finally managed to make a couple of videos of the vibrating/rattling noise my car has been making recently, it only took me about 2 weeks :face palm:, and hoping someone may be able to help... and sorry for the delay between the start of the video and the actually revving to get the sound happening... i was putting my phone on the ground then jumping back in to the car haha
I'm pretty sure that the first video shows the sound a bit better as i stuck my phone under the car for it and the second one is just on the gutter haha
(click on the videos to view them, not sure on how to post them up properly haha)
and my coolant light has been coming on a lot recently and i think i may have found the source for a leak but I'm not quite sure what part it is or if its a common fault so i took a couple of pictures.
and this one shows where the part is a bit better
thanks in advance for any help guys and i can take some better pictures or try and take some better videos too if it would help anyone out a bit more2014 Golf GTI PP - Pure White

The springy hose clips, not always easy to get off with anything but the proper tool. You can use some vice grips to good effect though.
Then clean up the outlets with some rough emery cloth ( my preferred abrasive ). Of course you need to drain the coolant too.
If that doesn't sort it or the heat exchanger needs to come off. Remove the oil filter, then under that is a 24mm (IIRC) nut which holds on the heat exhanger. There's an O ring at the top under the mount.
PM me an email address and I'll send you a picture of ETKA so you can see the order of things.

im going to say the catalytic converter has died cookie. mine lasted a year like that til the point i almost finished all the material inside and would have been spitting bits at people down the road.
either get the inside bashed out of it, or get a good quality highflow one and have someone cut it in, genuine VW part is soooo expensive as its like half the exhaust system
gave the bora a clean, took it to the MCM meet in melb with the agentz, stanceworks and VWW crew.
