The replacement isn't a VAG vehicle. 2009 MY09 Liberty GT Spec.B Sedan.
I considered a Passat, but the next car had to be an automatic, and I don't trust the DSG. Our other car is an MY05 Outback 2.5i, so a Liberty is a very similar driving experience (well, apart from the pace the Liberty can deliver). Other requirements were bigger than the Bora, and AWD - and that limits my choices. I considered an A4, but too expensive for what you get (compared to a Liberty).

I guess that makes me VAGless.
Damn dude. I hope you'll still stay with the scene for a little while before completely disappearing ...
Congrats on the Liberty GT though.. I think that's where I might head next if I ever need to go slightly bigger.. Some form of AWD would be nice, and R32 is too exe for me.. I'm sure you'll have fun with it!!
Dark Grey Mk4 Golf, 1.8T GTI conversion, APR stage 1, stock air intake, FMIC, 3" to 2.5" Exhaust, FK AK Street Coils, Black 18" (Avant Garde M310's ?), tinted tails, ...

I'll be around for a bit yet. At the least, I enjoy assisting the community with ECSTuning.
I considered a Passat, but as I said, DSG is a question mark, and the R36s are still expensive. If VW had decided to do a Passat R with a 2.0L turbo and AWD, that may have been a bit different (it would have pushed the price of R36s down at least).
The Liberty will be fun I am sure. I'm already considering my options there...
Sump is good, just a few nicks (no idea how considering its higher then the frame)
subframe well... subframe bolts are a serviceable item yeah? every 15,000km I believe
CVs are going to have a full rebuild and some custom work done once I get the car lower
I do need to get under the arches and paint all the polished sections of metal that are no longer rubbing daily too
Finally got around to Joey Modding my headlights.. Such a MASSIVE task on mk4 golf headlights!!! (OEM Valeo ones).
Hours and hours of digging out the glue/epoxy crap and all the broken bits of glass stuck in it. Massive job, got to bed at 5am last night. But all worth it in the end. So happy I finally got this done!!

That looks great!
they are a pita in the boras too if you do the full mod.
Bora back. no bearing noise, cv boot fixed, the boys fixed a few other issues while it was there
seems the volkwerke crew had some laughs with the air ride too.
Highly recommend them!
Yeah, thanks guys, it just looks so right that I can't believe it ever looked different. This is the first step in getting the exterior to where I want it. As I've decided to get the exterior happening next, rather than the interior or FMIC etc.
Next is painting matte black plasti dip on the grill bits & mirrors and maybe gloss black badges (weekend coming). Then sorting out a bump which is annoying me, then colour coding the bumpers.. Something Dylan suggested a LONG time ago, but it's only just sunk in how much better it will look.
Anyone wants any info on tricks with the Joey mod, let me know. I don't think the world needs another Joey Mod DIY... Although I couldn't find a realistic one on the horrendous glue lights we get.
