woodgrain is OG. But I really do like the aluminium trim though. Ill keep my woodgrain thanks, got other things to blow my money on.
And on that note. Took my car to Solitare Mile End (Adelaide) this morning before work.
Got the 90,000km service and rocker cover gasket replacement done.
Total cost was a tad rich from what I'm used to. But I'm not fussed in the end, I'm still happy.
Also when I get paid tonight, I shall be ordering a few goodies for the GTi99 MkIV GTI

I changed the gearbox oil to Redline MT90. In a hope to resolve the 2nd gear crunch that I've got recently.
I did the master cylinder at Easter and it only made a small difference, it happens less often but was still an issue.
So far I managed a few 3K changes, some 5K changes and one hell of an effort at 7K - no crunch, time will tell.
Changing out of 2nd back to 1st when stationary is easier too.
Less than 2 litres drained out, it should have been 2.1 litres, maybe that was the issue ?
My attempt at keeping it level
The big hex key for the bungs
All that came out.

I'm getting a bit of work done tomorrow, water pump, timing belt, rocker cover gasket + more, fuel filter, new G12 coolant, but the one thing I haven't gotten yet for it is OIL!
I need recomendations for OIL ASAP! The job is getting started at about 11am tomorrow morning and I don't know what OIL to get??
Here is the thread with the details of what I'm doing: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...sed-70963.html
But the main details are: VW Golf MK4 2000, 1.6L (AKL).
Please give me some suggestions asap! I was reading about the "Mobil 1 ESP 5W30" recomended by VW, but wasn't sure if my car was a little bit 'older' for that, aka: should I get a thicker oil if these could/would be the original rings in the engine?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!Dark Grey Mk4 Golf, 1.8T GTI conversion, APR stage 1, stock air intake, FMIC, 3" to 2.5" Exhaust, FK AK Street Coils, Black 18" (Avant Garde M310's ?), tinted tails, ...
