after doing the dogbone bushes and I almost shook my teeth out I've put the stock top mount (small one) in with the new one, still shaking like mad but not as bad as the total replacement, I have noticed my tail pipes have sucked under the car alot so maybe the old mount had let the engine tilt heaps or I have another issue, any help would be good guys.
edit: I've just changed it again, new top mount (small bush) and stock bottom mount, it's not as bad as before just a little worse than stock, so will test it on the road tomorrow.Last edited by theOctopus; 04-02-2012, 10:01 PM.The daily

Keen on going with some more aggressive wheels now. I'm looking at some 17inch 8.5 inch wide with a +31 offset impul wheels. Can get a really good price, I think the rears should sit pretty nice - although unsure about the fronts. From my visual comparisons to my current wheels the fronts will poke out too much. Anyone run a similar wheel? Need some help here, thanks

Put in Coilovers the other day. Haven't really lowered it any more (past the height of the R32 suspension) as the front control arms were already slightly past parallel, but handling and grip has increased markedly. Braking too has improved tremendously and feels more balanced

Had my regular bi-monthly scare with my Bora late last week when it started running like a sick diesel and ticking like a bomb about to go off. Changed the oil (found a place that still has some Castrol edge Sport in stock instead of the crap new Edge Titanium) and it was still running really bad so I took it down to CVWC for them to take a look and by the time I got there it was running smoother than it has in months, they did a VCDS scan and the only error they could find was a lambda sensor.
The general consensus seemed to be that it might have had a blockage in the oil pickup that caused a low oil pressure even though it had plenty of oil (it actually had too much oil) but whatever it was seems to be gone now that the oil has been changed and it has been driven a bit.
Great guys down at CVWC, they know these cars really well. Only problem is they are always booked out a month in advance. I guess that is an indication of how good these guys are (and how many VWs there are in Canberra, seriously they are everywhere, Golf GTIs are like Commodores down here)
