  • Ticking from engine bay

Hey vw fan, hoping to get some advice.

Newly purchased mk4 golf gti. 180,000kms.on clock. Noticed ticking sounds from engine bay after throttling. I'm pretty sure it's not a tick from the timing belt as it has been changed in the last 6 months but I vaugley remember having this issue many moons ago on another GTI I had at replacing the timing belt fixed this. It's coming from driver side of bay.

Other notable things is the car has been lowered and is a hard ride so could possible be that something has just come loose as well.

Video link here (hopefully it works):
    GTI Bay

Thanks in advance for your help and looking forward to getting back involved in the vw community

Just found an old comment from a previous username I used. Possibly could be cam chain or belt tensioner. I've had this happen on an old GTI before, this is where I'll look first!
