  • mickey's vr6 thread

    ...And so it begins!

I just got so jealous of personal threads I had to make one for myself. So, basically I'll update this thread when I do stuff to my car.

I'll start with my most recent goodies Christmas really does come in July! I know it's june, but got mine early cause I'm special

    How's this for $200?

Brand new Magnaflow backbox with 2.5" square tips and 2.25" inlet. Brand new resonator, some random brand but it looks nice I think these are 2.5" inlet/outlets.

As some of you would know I've already done tinted side repeaters, 16% tint all round, 6000k HID's and Kicker/Jaycar system.

    More to come!
    Cheers

    sweet looking muffler!

Can I ask why you put HID lights in your reflector headlights (presuming they are)
I am personally against it, seeing as you blind other road users constantly.
do you get high beamed much?

I've actually never been beamed mate. I've been told by my mates when my car is moving that they're very bright but not very high so maybe it's not so bad?

Sorry to interupt your thread, but I agree, it will just project your light like a big blob of what ever color your HIDs are

One reason I did it was because it was dangerous how little light I had before. And sure, I might get projectors soon, FUNDS PERMITTING (fingers crossed!!)

Now, all of you, off my back hahah

              Why's everyone going HID's for?

Even though our cars' headlight are weak as, I really like the sort of orange look headlights, with yellow fogs.... Very German somehow. In my opinion, HID's would make my car look too new, if that makes sense? That's not to say they wouldn't look good.

And Mickey, the Magnaflow backbox and resonator are really going to make your car bark, like a good VR6 should. You have make many a VR6 owner very jealous, including me. It's going to be very different to what your car sounded like stock. It didn't even sound like it was on!

Can't wait to see the other mod's...

A simple bulb upgrade, along with fixing old lights (adjusting them properly/replacing the broken adjusters) would be far safer than bliding everyone else on the road.
I would have also looked at possible driving light fitment if they were that dull. Or re-wire your lights (relays, etc) to assure theyre getting the right output (V) into them.
There are other options instead of using chinese junk

like vwthunder stated, all your doing is getting a big blob of light that seems brigher but is actually more unsafe and produces less light output than your standard halogen.

Hahaha thankyou everyone for worrying so much about my lights. I wasted 100 bucks on crystalvisions (now better used) and it didn't do much so when the HID's opportunity came up I jumped on it!

Here, just for everyone...I'll make a pact. SMOKED PROJECTOR R32 STYLE FTW when I can afford them!

Haha Malteser I'm ridiculously excited about the sound that's going to come out of this when I'm done!!
On that note , and just out of curiosity what do people think I should do - Should I get a hi-flow cat and go cat-back or should I just go briefcase back? ....Keeping in mind that I'm a student with no money constantly, so I'd prefer not to bother unless it's REALLY worth it
