get some old magazines, jack the rear up, place inbetween tyre and guard and leave overnight. See if that does anything

mk3 3dr beater
Read it in a pvw feature a few months back. Not sure it'll work on the rears though.. Them arches are tough!! Could be worth a shot though. Throw some weights in the boot as well

I pumped all my gaurds a bit with that method (sort of). I used phone books (only had stock et-2000 wheels on) and just raised the car up, heated the fenders with heat gun, slammed it down and repeated. Super easy with bags, though you can do it with a jack. Actually did an alright job.
Car's looking good man. Shame about that rust, looks pretty clean otherwise (in the photos atleast)sigpic

do not understand how magazines work haha.
heaps scared to roll my gaurds as one side has had a repair with bog involved.
I don't mind the rust, it will be fixed, not repainted though. I've always admired rat rods and the rat look....kinda wanna go down that path a little.Last edited by shooitt; 02-11-2012, 02:53 AM.'95 Golf 3dr... low. slow. loud.

how do you expect to pass a blue slip (what ever the yearly inspection is called) with calipers that are half warn away and washers under the stub axles?
