Can anyone tell me if this would be the right gasket set for my 1.8? VW GOLF VENTO 1.8 8V ADZ AAM ABS 94-99 HEAD GASKET SET | eBay
I need to replace my Rocker Cover gasket. Is there anywhere cheaper/more local?

Im pretty sure a aftermarket rocer cover gasket from your local VW service centre should be liek $15. I bought mine from my local guy and it was about $11.95 (trade price)

I got a little mouse happy and bought the full kit haha.... Never know when I might need the rest.

Also bought smoked side repeaters, new brake and clutch pedal rubbers, lower bumper grille (cos one was missing), and a few other goodies which I hope to reveal at Eurofest.

Cleaned up the Weitecs and waiting for my new spring seat for the one which is all apart.

Just a quick update. I got a clutch cable from VW, $149 ain't too bad. Soooo much easier to drive now! Also replaced the injection flange mount, runs better now and no longer smells like fuel when I stop suddenly hahaha.

Had a scrape around the rust bubbles, they're now "speed holes"

I should be getting the weitecs on really soon. I'll hopefully get the roof liner back next week, about damn time....I suppose it's what I get for only offering $100 to get it done lol.

Still trying to decide what I want to do with the paint:
          Spray can it matte black.
Wet sand the whole thing and leave it at that.
Vinyl wrap it matte black or grey.
          Keep it as it is.

Put my Weitecs on today, still sitting at a sensible height while I continue to practice my manual driving skills haha. Did a little mock-up with my borbet reps.

Here's what's to come for my poor neglected little golf:

Gonna be way lower by Eurofest

I personally prefer the borbets and as for the paint I'd leave it as is/try and improve the condition of the current paint. Mainly because its one of my favourite mk3 colours car is definitely looking good and keen to see where you take it!!

The borbets have had their day on my Vento, I hope to get the phonedials looking as good on the Golf as the borbets.
I've got adapters coming this week, the wheels need to be repainted/powdercoated and I've gotta find some tyres that'll look good.
The problem with the paint on the car is the drivers side has bad key marks all along it, the roof is extremely faded and I don't plan on getting the rust repainted, just fixed and sprayed grey or something. Also the the bumpers are badly scratched. Honestly it needs a full respray and I don't want to spend that sort of money on this car.

Porsches look like the obvious choice but lose the arch flares!!!

Yeah I've been tossing up whether to keep them on or not. I'll take them off when I do some guard rolling and see what I think.
Oh by the way, I discovered this not long after I got the car, the top textured bumpers are actually painted that way to match the arches. The first owner must've really wanted those plastic arches lol.

                              Did you get adaptec adapters?
Think I saw them on their facebook page.
keen to see how the porsche wheels come out. What were the final specs?
                              Bora gone

Yeah, the Adaptec 2 piece adapters. I got 50mm for the rear and 45mm for the front. I didn't go crazy with their thickness cos the flat faced phone dials have like the highest offset of all the Porsche wheels, I'll most likely get some other Porsche wheels later on.
