one thing with that lcd flip is that during the day, in the shade, it's hard to read but i'm hoping with new polarising films it'll be better

Continuing with the updates.....

I have Hella All reds with a tint strip through the middle of them at the moment but for one, Hella all reds aren't a PROPER red and the indicator looks kinda pinky, and for two, I want to do it properly without the tint strip.

So i'm using some cl tails....

first i've shaved them, sanding all the manufacturer markings off but leaving the HELLA marking to keep it nice and oem. was a bit of a **** around with sanding the "made in spain" stamp off but I think it looks awesome and was worth it...













Sanded....... those little pin holes are deeper then I thought so they'll have to stay there....







Then masked and sprayed with some red tint....




1st coat.....



2nd coat.....



3rd coat.....




Finished!




Came out a lot better then I was expecting!
Just waiting for some dry time now before I clean and mask off the red so I can lay down some black tint through the middle and then clear and polish them!


Also, since I won't be needing a key anymore, i'm shaving the barrel bulge in the clamshell no progress pics on the just yet, still piecing and welding it together




And also..... What airbags officer?? .... In the hope it makes my abs light delete and steering wheel half legit.....

haha, it's the matching nardi knob to the steering wheel

The sunflare is just from the phone camera, it was so bright I had to turn the exposure value right down to get any sort of detail otherwise it'd be all white, haha.....

Dude I can't wait for Halfway Hangs, super keen to meet more like minded mk3 owners, it's really sad up here with the exception of a few....

Love it. Just bought an identical glovebox but mine won't stay closed. When you get a chance can you take a pic of the inside where it clamps to shut. Like if you open the box in the centre up the top.

damn dude, sucks, but it'd be easy to make it, I can measure up the piece if you want for a template? and just dremel it out of a lil piece of metal.....

lmao, I know right.... would love if something was spring-loaded that popped up when needed to make it functional..... might look into it....
