Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    i haven't updated this thread in a while so here's a look.

i removed all the valves and gave them a clean and a relapped. also gave the rest of the engine, trans, ect... a clean and its looking good.

also washed out the engine bay.

Now im just waiting for the head gasket kit in the post then i can get the thing back together.

Can I 100% reconmned that your have the head sent off for a refresh by a professional. They will acid tub it, new valve stem seals and a quick skim. This would be a some good money spent so you dont drop a valve or do a HG later on the track. And it wont use oil liek most do with high KM's. So easy with the engine out.

Please it would be so easy and $450 might seem like a lot now but if you cook it on 8 months time 700kms from home dont be complaining!

x2 on getting the head re-freshed by a pro. It'll be worth the cash and the piece of mind
