Mk3 Mods..whats been done to yours?

No i don't have any probs with belt slip, don't know why others in the states have probs. My only probs were belt alignment (some shims took care of that) and oil leak from the inpeller shaft seal, which is going back to CAPA to hopefully get fixed. Speaking to VF, Vortech and CAPA it is a very rare problem for the V9 S/C to have.

I don't know where they got that figure, not many get that from an otherwise stock engine, but like i said earlier my engine is getting tired, blow by, minor piston knock when cold.

No the Autronic route isn't cheap, about $2500 for the ECU and about $1500? for the tuning. But you can't put a price on peice of mind, i've never liked chip tuning.

I am sure with a turbo you could easily see 400hp, with a bulit engine close to 500
Why dont you sell it and go to a turbo lol, there would be a few people with their hands up for this

I am curently building a new motor to put a gt3071r so the kit may be for sale in 6months or so, but i want to get the oil issue sorted beforre then.

I'd love a supercharger on mine but with a motor thats just hit 245,000km the s/c would probably blow the head clean off!

Turbo would probably blow the crankshaft right out of its case

Right, not much to say to be honest but I think it is a fanstastic looking little car after all, anything faster and I'd be in a tangled mess on the side of the road.

Oh, and I'll be getting a MK4 gti in 6 months (Gasp), yes I know, thats if I keep my current job anyway.

So far on my 97 VR6:

currently:
-16inch early audi A3 5 spoke rims (like fat 5's but not quite as fat )
-smoked crystal clear mk4 side indicators (waiting for adapters to actually put these in)
-hot tuning coilovers (best mod so far)
- Drift air pod filter (which needs some sort of heat sheild, its just suckin hot air atm)
-rolled rear arches
-front strut mounts and bearings
-"R32/TT" control arm bushes (i just ordered new ones for my car and the ones i got look exactly like the ones i was debating about ordering from some site touting them as R32 or TT bushes)
-Crackpipe (changed this when doing all timing chains and tensioners and all associated gaskets and seals)
-VR6 front lip (need another one, shattered this one, super glue is doing the job atm)
-badgeless grill (still not painted)
-pioneer head unit w/ proper ipod connection
-sony 500wrms monoblock
-sony 4 channel amp
-sony 320w 6inch splits up front
-sony 6X9's on parcel shelf
-12inch Xplode sub in ported box
-removed rear wing and plugged

so much planned, it would be good if apprenticeship wages would get a bit of a bump!
