Feels great at about 3500rpm when its starts boosting up, also love the S/C whine. The BFI stg1 mount that have just gone in take abit to get use to, but supposedly soften up a little bit after a week or so.

Makes decent power for a 200,000kms stock engine that has alot of blow-by, about 220hp at 6500rpm.

I do all the work myself, except the tuning which was done by Graham West Workshop in Adelaide (Autronic dealer in SA) and machining work on my new engine all done by Chris Milton Engine Development in Adelaide also.

Right, not much to say to be honest but I think it is a fanstastic looking little car after all, anything faster and I'd be in a tangled mess on the side of the road.

Oh, and I'll be getting a MK4 gti in 6 months (Gasp), yes I know, thats if I keep my current job anyway.

            Current:
            *Eibach pro kit springs
            *Modded air box
            *Ebay souvlaki powered chip
            *16 x 7 inch 10 spoke rims with W rated 205/45 silverstone kruizers
            *Alpine 200 watt head deck
            *Momo carbon gear knob
            *Clearcoated interior fixtures
            *Rear wing removed and plugged
            *"Golf GL" rear badge removed
*Front lip smoothed, painted and clearcoated
            *Eyebrows with clearcoat
            *Front grill clearcoated
            *White front indicators
            *Smoked side markers
*Rims resprayed in black by me on the left side

            *Alot spent on repairs

            *Tinted stock tailights (indicator down)
            *MK4 GTI floormats

            Near Future:
*Gloss Black wheels all round (i.e 2 more sanded already)
*Rear trim on bumper smoothed and painted and clearcoated (sanded already)
*Side skirts smoothed, painted and clearcoated
*VR6 euro lip, smoothed, painted and clearcoated

            *MK4 GTI

            If I get fired:
            *Smoked front markers and reflectors
            *Performance panel filter
            *Window tinting
            *400 watt amp

The car has almost reached its limit in the modifcations department so I intend to move on soon anyway... Keep an eye on the classifieds...

Oh and is that a hair dryer I see?
Oh and to you VR6 guys...

first guy to forced induction wins nationals.

I paid about $5000 landed plus customs fees.

Wheel spin, yes, 1st gear above 4-4500, and on change into 2nd. In the wet also wheel spin at the top of 2nd 6000rpm. but the tyres i have atm are siht (sava intensa). Got some Yokohama semi slicks lined up.

As for the Autronic the standard wiring loom is still in place, i just ripped the guts out of an old ECU and wired the SM4 loom onto the back of the plug, so if i want i can easily go back to the standard ECU. Next setup may replace the entire engine loom, don't know yet. The ECU is in the same place as the original ECU but inside a water proof box, as they are NOT water proof.

The other benefit of the Autronic is it made about 20wkw peak more than the supplied GIAC chip.

All stock sensors just missing the MAF. MSD coils just run off the stock ignition module.

It is good, you hear people talking about doing it, but don't see any of them. But there has to be someone else in aus with a similar kit or turbo?

ive heard of only 1 other S/C. and not sure if it was just someone spouting off or was for real.

Seb from euro automotive is working on a vr6 turbo drag car as well. but thats a whole other story. http://vr6.com.au/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11
Its a bit of a long term project though i think! no updates recently. But i think there are some coming soon?

There have been a couple of nice N/A cars but thats about all i know of.
My VR6 is no longer my daily so its currently in bits. Will see what comes of it. Kinda weighing up options at the moment.

Hey Tim, I had a quick look at Sebs project today most of the plumbing for the turbo and front mount are finally completed so he can start it lol. This car is awesome and its nice to see someone going forced induction! I have been looking at the VF engineering SC myself, and after seeing what you can get out of it looks awesome, and for the price you paid thats tops. I will be going forced induction but at the moment thats a few years off.

Do you have problems with the belts slipping

How much boost does it run 8.5psi?
I know there is a stage 1 and stage 2 kit, stage 2 is about 270hp, I am guessing your 220hp is at the wheels

I am also thinking about doing it in the future, $5000 guess that it just the supercharger kit then the Autronic isnt cheap, adds up to big $$$
