sound like a good course of action Mrk_Mickey

As for the black sides, i'd say DIY

I did, and it looks awesome. Resprayed the front lip, front and rear badges and the spoiler. If I wasn't so busy with Christmas stuff then I would have probably done the side plastics this weekend... I may still do it...

all I did was I went to bunnings and bought a $15 can of gloss black spray paint and did it on the front drive. The badges were easy - I sanded the face down a bit first and then gave them 2 coats.

oh i also sprayed the front reflectors while i was at it. looks sweet IMO

The cage will make it hard to get under the tonne. Thats alot of steel, and alloy ones arn't legal. They seem to collaps.

its of my basic knowledge of asking around that chromoly is the way to go, its used in a lot of motorsport applications as its stronger and a bugger load lighter than mild steel . . . .

Did it stay for a while? I keep hearing that re-painting them isn't very permanent and I will admit that I am too lazy to polish them every fortnight lol..
Also, for smoking my indicators and reflectors, is that just a question of popping them off and spray-painting the plastic covers? I'm assuming there'll be a number of DIY threads or sites out there where I can read up.

Let's hope my mods list starts up this weekend!

yeh well to be honest it has only been a few weeks... there is a DIY sticky thread - pretty good read.

i dont see the paint coming off anytime soon. it still looks pretty healthy and then can said 8-15years guarantee...

awesome stuff man, with all the knowledge I've gained from the forums I'm gonna paint it hopefully on the weekend! Did you take your panels off or just tape around them? If you took them off, is it easy and straight forward, or is there a how-to on the site here somewhere?
              Cheers

                panels?

all the bits i sprayed were removeable... everything else was already black... i put them all on a big throw down thingo ($3 from bunnings) and sprayed them on the front drive.
