Yeah. 20 minute drive. When I saw them they were at $120 and i nearly got them cause they were a set of Simmons for that price.

If you don't mind telling how much did they end up going for?

Maybe they weren't the same ones. I saw them for $100 with 0 bids. I was a bit sneaky (cause I'm sick of being outbid) I sent the guy a message offering $375 if he removed them and he agreed. They still had a few days left. After looking them up though the same wheels (Simmons b45) go for some ridiculous amounts. I've seen sets advertised in 15x8 and 15x11 or something for falcons asking $3,300 don't know if they'll ever get that but it made me happy with what I paid. It seems the going rate for them is around $900-$1200 I think?

I'm sure they are the same ones. Cause I have never seen them in 5x100 before and they were in mainland.

Should have made your Newcastle presence more known I've never seen another vr6 in person haha.

That's why I jumped on them. I was struggling to find anything I like in 5x100 that I could afford.

Was kind of a late notice rushed thing. Will let you know next time I'm headed up there although it's not very often. I've only ever seen 2 on the coast and one was LPG converted so that was different.

Tried fitting the wheels today just to see what happened. Due to the design not the spoke but the nuts around the outside hit the caliper and I couldn't even try getting the wheel face onto the hub to see the difference in centre bore so definitely going to need spacers. The mounting face is pretty much in line with the bolts and on the car the caliper pokes more than the hub so that's the issue. Also slightly worried they're the Alfa 5x98 pcd instead of 5x100. I guess we'll see what happens. Pics to help try explain what I mean.

If I'd known all this I probably would've bought something else and ran adapters but oh well. I have these now so hopefully I can make them fit!

They're 15x7 and I think et36 so if anyone has suggestions for what width spacer to get them fitting nice feel free to post them up!

5x98? That is some gay **** right there.

I'd go for 15/20mm adapter/spacer for some niceness.

I measured them and I think they're 5x100 but I did see a set that 5x98 so it makes me wonder. Pretty sure they're 5x100 though. Yeah I was thinking maybe 20mm but after more measuring I'm not sure 20mm will be enough :/

                        5x98 is great
dont need adapters for that, either open the holes to 15mm or run wobble bolts

Mount them up to the car, that will tell you the PCD and Centre bore, then you can actually measure for yourself.
instead of spacers get bigger lips made up, wont cost much more and will have more wow

Good to know if they're 5x98 that it won't be a problem. Did think about wobble bolts if that's the case.

The problem here is that i can't get them on the car the spacers aren't for width they'd be for clearing the nuts from the caliper and getting the wheels on the car. I can't try see if the centre bore is right cause the caliper stops the wheel face getting near the centre bore. Hope that made more sense so you understand the problem.

Tomorrow I'll try the rears and hopefully they'll go on and the caliper won't interfere

I have the same problem with the BBS RS I'm building, you'll need to run a small spacer to clear the front brakes. The rears should clear the brakes fine, so yeah thats what I would be trying too to check centrebore/pcd. And yeah, 5x98 will be no problem once you clear the brakes, as said, wobble bolts would fix that easily, or as dylan said, if you already have to have the wheels in getting the centrebore enlarged, could get them to make the holes a little bigger also and you could just use standard bolts.

I love 15's on a mk3, these will look awesome once you get them working

Cheers mate, will check the rears tomorrow to see what the go is with centre bore, pcd and caliper clearance. Hopefully they will be fine probably not the centre bore though and then I could run bigger lips out the back and just run the spacers up front can't wait to see your RS's

I agree 15's look sweet! There's a whole thread on vortex for 15's on mk3 VWVortex.com - Pics of mk3's on 15" wheels........... please post

Just did some more measuring up on them and decided to double check the width turns out they're only 6.5" I guess the guy who owned them had no idea and didn't measure bead to bead. Barrel 5", Lip 2.5" overall width 192 so centre line 96, face to inside lip 132, 132-96=36

                                So I guess they're technically 15x6.5 et36
