nice man, i was just thinking about how they would look on a mk3, classic style of wheel will always look the goods.

that roadster guy is on JDMST isnt he? i think i remember the build write up a while ago.
taillights look good also , keep up the good work

      hey mate and welcome

let me say good intro on the car

i like the slight progress going into your mk3 and i may have a request

IMO i thiink you should keep the single chamber headlights and not go later model headlights, looks meaner whereas the 2 chamber looks too busy

also i love the color and cant wait for it all to be color coded lowerd and lookin tuff

      any plans engine wise???

        Cheers Wabit

I know what you mean about the dual chamber lights, but i reckon they look a bit meaner, give better light and plus my older model headlight is a bit screwed and i think the adjustment on the back is broken so it points up too high!

No plans engine wise other than a pod and some CAI for the time being. Might just focus on some suspension stuff, i prefer a slower car that handles well than a car with wak sus and lotsa power! Seems to go pretty damn well as is though so im happy enough

Once my Skyline is off defect and sold, ill be spending some more money on the Dub and getting it up to scratch!

              Little update!

Spent all afternoon cleaning the car up, doing a few things ive been meaning to do for a while! Finally had a day off work so could do it!

Went down to Supercheap Auto and bought a can of "Night Shade" and "Bumper Black - Satin". Been looking at a few sets of tinted front indicator lenses, but cant afford the 100$ so decided to paint my own. They came out pretty damn good IMO! Then I masked up the sideskirts and rear skirt, removed the rear and front spoiler and painted them with the Bumper Black paint. Came up a treat Very very happy with the results hehe! I also pulled apart the grill and repainted the black section. Looks so much better now.

Last of all, debadged the rear and cleaned up the paint with a cut and polish. Took me AGES to get rid of all the stupid sticky glue/foam ****, but worth the effort. Still undecided on whether to keep it debadged of put on my DUB badge. Ill decide later.

              Pics coming asap!

Nice!! They were the exact things I did first to my GL when I got it! It's amazing to see a 12 year old seem like it just rolled out of the factory

Yeah no joke. Just cleaning it up and repainting little bits and pieces makes such a huge difference

+2 for without badge. Keep as much silver on that beauty viewable as possible. Great colour.

What did you do to 'smoke' your front indicators? They look great!

Oh painted trim FTW, that looks pretty good considering you didn't choose to sand it back or clear coat it!

You can use a product called nightshades, I used it on my tail lights. Looks great, very little light comes through unfortunately, and its very easy to overdo as I discovered!!!

Yeah I used NightShade to do the front indicators. First coat looked good but a tad too light, so a second coat went on and it was what I wanted. It gets darker as it drys, gotta be careful with the stuff!

Well Ive just spent the past night and day doing my stereo install with a mate.
Never realised how fiddly it can be running all new wiring around the car! Was so much easier in my skyline.

Ended up with putting in :
                                Alpine CDA-9885 Headunit (bloody awsome!)
                                Pioneer Bullet Splits
Pioneer 2x60WRMS 2 channel amp (powering fronts)
Sony 250W Xplod sub (only temporary)
Alpine MRP-M350 350W Monoblock (powering sub)

Got some speakers to go in the rear, but I ran out of time and energy to wire them up so it can wait till a rainy day.

I was amazed at how well it all sounds. After a good tune it sounded even better haha, and the Golf doesnt seem to rattle to much, only the rear wiper that vibrates.

                                Pics up later

Oh and I appear to have a blown/broken ignition barrel now. I can start the car from a push start and after inspection it works fine using a dodgy as push start buttom some previous owner has installed, but wont start from the barrel. Any ideas?
