Be nice to have the immobiliser side of things kept as normal, and for now i cant afford to go completelty after market!

VW said the blank key itself is about $15 (or i can get one off ebay for SFA http://cgi.ebay.com.au/KEY-for-VW-GO...QQcmdZViewItem)
But yeah, the expensive part seems to be the re-programming.

Guess ill bite the bullet and get one from my local locksmith for about $120, but theres a waiting period to get the key shipped from Vic as knowone in SA has any stock

Thanks for the reply mate, ill let you know if i find anything else out!

My son Michael was a member of the Skyline Club, before he bought his T3 Transporter when we bought the Green T4.

Still one of my favourite cars!

See thats the benefit of owning pre aug-94 has no immobiliser. That is until my car gets stolen

First thing first should be to get rid of that 4WD mode and lower the darn thing!!!

Argh, and the pre-Aug 94 models didn't use a crank angle sensor either

Welcome mate, nice car. very similar to mine, but dont have any worries with the keys ( early model).

would be interesting to see some of those rim styles on the golf, a bit of japanese flavour never goes astray.

Nice Car Lorenz...A silver bullet! If you haven't already I would take your time painting the lower skirts. If you do the paint will inevitably come off and look messy. Get the front VR6 lip and keep using tyre shine and the black trim will look sweet. Oh and for mods...EBAY!

                  Thanks!
Yeah thinking of either getting the skirts painted up properly along with getting a few little scratches touched up or just taking the skirts, lip and spoiler off and shining them up a bit. See how things go!
Also tempted to get a VR6 front lip sometime soon, they look so much tuffer
Should have a pair of MK4 clear front guard indicators waiting for me at home by now so they will be going on soon I hate the stock orange ones!

Been keeping an eye on Ebay alot for bits n pieces!
