  • Well. decent coloured pics it is!!

Spent a few hours today prepping and painting the grill. Went and got the paint mixed up into a can at Autobarn for about $20, got some plastic primer and went nuts

Matched up really well, I was quite surprised!

      • Nice work Lorenz, that autobahn stuff seems to do a good job! Are you missing a lower bumper vent or did you remove it?

          • Just to make Branco happy, the colour code was LB7Z!

I am missing both bumper vents, removed them to test fit my new lower bumper vents I got shipped from the UK a while ago. I am colour coding the new vents as we speak, need a little bit of modding to fit properly though.

The quality of the grill is ok, not super great though. The tabs that hold the top of the grill in have all snapped off, but once the bonnet is closed it holds in pretty well and doesnt flex about at all. What can you expect for a cheap china 100$ copy though!

Will hit it up with some clear later, guy at the shop said it wont need any, but I think it will now

Painted up my eye lids aswell, dont look to bad, but quite possibly a tad ricey for my liking. They might grow on me but

              • Great to see a spot of DIY can yield such good results. Lacquer and you're done. Did you consider spraying the whole of the grille?

Has anyone thought of this either? I'm hanging for dubaddiction to get the grilles in and then i'll be all over this mod.

I did consider it, but TBH, Im not a fan of it all colour coded really. Black slats keep the OEM look going aswell

Branko, did you work in a paint industry or something for a while? And yes good ol' Satin Silver with a touch of blue pearl!

The eyelids.... already growing on me!

Ok, finished front end for now (until I get around to smoothing it)

                      Love this pic
