  • good decision on not going with more camber! that fitment looks spot on man though it might just be me but whenever the rear has more camber then the front, it just doesn't look right? .....killing it though!

I agree about the matching camber, I love it when front and rear camber matches, but would be pretty hard to get the same camber I have in the back in the front though unfortunately, not to mention it would eat tyres. I might give the fronts another degree or two though so its pretty close, no idea what camber the front has at the moment, havent had an alignment since swapping suspensions for the roadworthy.

      • as long as it's close...i've run 3.5deg in the front since ever and never been bothered with bad tyre wear or whatever.... can't wait to see them done

          • Not sure yet, thinking tunershop maybe as they dont charge much for shipping but I'm still yet to really look into it. I did look into all of it like a year ago and found somewhere that did awesome prices, but I've forgotten where that was now

              • It sucks hey, I did it slowly with a gaurd roller and tried to be careful, but those holes in the inner lips for the fender liner do it. sure there is a way around it but I have no idea how to prevent it/fix it. the other side is even worse. Atleast the back rolled nicely, rear quarter panels are a lot harder to replace than front fenders if I ever feel the need

                  • Had planned on buying nice new polished hex caps for the rs, but after seeing prices decided to just do it myself. Stripped the paint with paint stripper, sanded with 7 different grits or sand paper and then buffed up one of these yesterday. Took a lot of time (good majority of the day, time I should have spent studying. Ohwell haha.) and I only did one, but really happy with how it turned out, well worth the time and effort.

Will get new centre caps for them and they should look great.

Also made it out to a downshift meet and a few people took some nice photos, so I may aswell post those here too

My license will be suspended from saturday so probably will be a good opportunity to get some work done to the car, although realistically nothing big is likely to happen. Aiming to get the RS on by the end of it though, so watch this space

                        • Hah if someone wants to donate a couple grand for me to buy the parts I need to finish rebuilding the engine, then sure can send it to benjones@hotmail.com.au on paypal when I get around to doing the engine I'm going to do it right the first time, instead of putting it in only to pull it out and fix it up later.

Unemployed uni life sucks haha, had to spent the little money I should have used to buy food with this week on sandpaper and paint stripper to polish up the hex caps, so finishing the vr6 in the near future is looking unlikey Hoping to get some good vac work over summer, and if I do, the vr6 will be going in soon enough

                          • Are you still going big with the vr?

                            3.0L and etc?

                            • I really have no idea. Im in two minds about it, on one hand I want to build a full out monster 3.0 turbo vr6 putting out like 500hp and am still seriously considering it, but on the other, I'm thinking of just doing a more mild NA build, as realistically the car is fwd and on bags, so its never going to be a track monster, so I think I'd rather spend that money on making something fast and RWD and just have a nice sounding (lets be honest, the vr6 has more bark than it does bite compared to a lot of motors) daily which can bring a smile to the face when that right pedal is depressed, and I have no doubt a mildly worked NA Vr6 could do that. I guess we'll see when I finally get the money. Either way, it's not just going to be any plain old vr6, that's for sure. Will definitely be getting a full rebuild and some headwork etc at the very least.
