      • Thanks boys. I'm trying to figure out how to mount it all in the back of the car so its nice and solid and its being a bit difficult but I'm getting there slowly.

The lines are aluminium, I bent them with a nice Imperial Eastman 3/8 tube bender. Were pretty easy to polish, just used some mothers aluminium polish and some elbow grease and buffed them up, didn't have to sand them back or anything.

        • Still not completely done, need to put the trim panel things I made for the seats on and tidy things up a bit, but it's very close

                • Thanks for the compliments guys! really helps keep me motivated. Its probably going to be a few weeks before I get time to finish it all, I don't even know how this semester has gone so fast but I basically have to learn an entire semesters worth of work for a few classes in a couple weeks, which won't be fun or leave much spare time.

I can give some details of things you can't see in that photo though...
-The false floor is all done and properly supported, with a layer of rubber between the floor and supports to try and minimize noise of compressors. Its all well overdone, I can get in there and put my whole (albeit small ) weight on it and it's super solid.
                  - gave the hardlines a red andonized look which turned out really nice, photos don't do it justice
                  - made a matching subwoofer grille out of left over tube, haven't seen that before
                  - ripped off the grey foam sort of stuff that was on the sides of the boot covering the strut towers and all, and covered with matching black carpet
                  - removed that annoying child seat bracket thing that a lot of people think is a strut brace, but actually does little in regards to performance and just gets in the way
                  - hooked up the speakers in my parcelshelf support things and hid the wires
                  - ran a 1m cool white led strip somewhere pretty well hidden, lights it up realllly nicely, wired into stock boot light
                  - connected everything up, car can move again so took the oppurtunity to wash it

One month til I get the license back

                  • I suppose the biggest motivation is getting your license back!

It all looks sooo clean! Love your work man.
Can't wait to get started on my 3door lol

                    • Have done very very little car related lately due to uni, got the new sump bulked up with 6mm steel plate though, super happy with how it turned out, its tough as hell, going to be near impossible to wear through this one I think. Photos don't do it justice, not sure how they did it but it covers all the little bends and bumps perfectly. Thanks again Glynn!

Also whacked in some 30mm spacers (thanks alex!) in the back and some 10mm in the front. Again my ****ty camera phone photos don't do justice but it looks pretty awesome I think, never seen stance like this on stock wheels before

The rears are sitting on the tyres now which stops it from sitting as low as it use to (It use to tuck a little wheel) but I'm liking it haha, something different atleast until I get the RS finished

Have heaps of stuffed planned to do to this in the holidays, toying with lots of different ideas. A photoshopped teaser of one of the things I might do

                      • Love the spacers. Just need some phatter ones on the front.

IMO id leave the badge for OEM goodness!

                          • Damn right stu

But yeah I wish I had some bigger ones to put up front but this is all I have, so I wont be buying new spacers just for these stock wheels when I could spend that money finishing the other set

I photoshopped a whole combination of things and I think it looks a little funny keeping the badge but shaving the bumper. Guess we'll see what happens, badgless grille definitely isnt first on the list of things I want to buy
