  • I agree, not low enough!

but seriously, wow! Are they the factory bbs? looks awesome at that height. Wish i had the balls to go that low daily.
I like the blue with all the black trims and pieces.
So now what are the plans...
    Bora gone
    Vento VR6
    MKIV GSW TDI
    7P Touareg TDI

    • factory bbs yeah. i think theyd look nice if i spaced the rears out ~20-25mm and got some slightly smaller tyres.

I like the blue and black too its like one big bruise. which coincidentally is how you would feel after driving it that low for too long hahah. I have to reattach the textured fender flare things, took them off to roll the gaurds and now have to find some tape strong enough that i can trust will keep them on.

Theres massive plans... but im broke. so then theres realistic plans. next up i have to fix the coolant and oil leaks, as at the moment over night im getting a nice like 15cm wide puddle of oil -.- also getting sick of forking out $23 for a bottle of g12++ coolant every week. Should also finish off the new intake manifold in the near future.

Then I'll need new tyres as theyre getting close to being bald :/ although if I get a job by then it will be the perfect time to stick it on some baller wheels

      • Wow, I'm very impressed with your handiwork and how you just get stuck in and learn as you go along.

        Great car and thread !!!

        • Thats awesome. I should put up pics of my carnage too My wheel wells are rubbed down to the metal too, and I just recently replaced my sump, though it's got a big scrape in it already from a stint on Parramatta Rd. My subframe takes most of the damage though, glad I drive a 2.0L!

With the axle fouling on the chassis, I managed to overcome it without notching by using thinner axles. GAP sells EMPI branded axles which are narrower. They're pretty well-priced and comes with new inner and outer CV joints so when you need to do the CVs or wheel bearings at a later date, look into getting them.

          • ill definately keep that in mind ray come to think of it when i originally got the road worthy certificate i needed to change the rego over to QLD they said my cv boot was leaking or something so maybe i should look into it. they dont appear to be making any noise or anything though. Although it does sound like i have some noise on the passenger side when i let off the accelerator, maybe a wheel bearing or something, not sure. If i had the cash id love to do a full refresh of the front suspension components, as to have it sit flat i have to have one side set 10-15mm higher then the other, and idk, that seems wrong haha.

              • Holy apples !! Thats is preeeetty damn lows man. Love it..

Even though i dont like the vr6 bbs (now i just wait for the 'wtf is wrong with you' comments LOL) it looks really good. Didnt think they would come out that low. Apart from rubbing and scrapping on everything, you'd think the drive shafts and control arms are having a hard time as well haha.

                Good work

                • haha thanks guys. even though it seems i havent done that much, i still seem to have spent the majority of my free time (of which i have a lot of at the moment) doing little things to the car. i guess a lot of that is keeping it all clean though.

vr6 bbs arent my favourite wheels, but i dont mind them, which is why they werent put on the top of the priority list. I do really want to run something much less practical though. Still undecided on what wheels im after, probably 16x9 (at the back atleast) 3 piece wheels, of some 5 spoke variety would be amazing. or meshies possibly. or rotiform NUE 17x8 with 185/35 tyres or even crazy wide 15s or crazy wide 15/16 steelies. Will see what i can find when i get some cash would love to restore a pair of wheels.
