some photos of it all back in
it looks purple in these, its not, haha, also the grab handle things and all dont actually look as horrid as they do in these photos, kinda contrast nicely i think. Was going to paint them and still might, but for now they may just stay how they are.

I'm kinda disappointed it's not that purple, cos it would look SICK if it was!

Suede is great eye candy, love the stuff!
Btw, can I ask, where did you pick up your bottle of G12 (Plus Plus?) coolant from?

It wasnt as easy as I was expecting, hell by the time i got the stupid c-pillar trims off I was already over it haha. Once you get into it though its not that hard reallly.

The MK2 has gone through about 500ml of those big 1.5L bottles in about 6 months, just planning where to buy the G12++ from.
$20 is a steal IMO from a dealer.

Well I used ~3 bottles to fill it after flushing whatever was previously in there, and about 1.5 the other day when I made a stupid mistake trying to bypass the throttle body and lost most of the coolant -.- So only a bottle or so from the slow leak I have going :/sigpic

Since I know all the random internet people cant sleep at night not knowing what I've been up too, a little update
Today armed with a dremel, a screw, some double sided tape, a pair of scissors and a sheet of sanding paper (yes im too poor to even afford real dremel bits so i had to make my own, lol) I attacked a beautiful shaved throttlebody i picked up amongst a few other things from the inspirational Alex (KI11Z) a few weeks back.
Had read mixed things about porting the throttle body on a VR6 but after furhter research found if you dont take too much out on an OBD1 VR6 it should be fine (OBD2 (which i dont even know if we have in aus) reacts badly to it) so figured why not
old and new, new one has the heater bits shaved, along with the things you screw what im guessing was a heatshield into, and the thing that the throttle thing use to rest on (don't know all my technical terms ok)
I really wasnt expecting much if anything from doing this, actually I was more worried it was going to make things worse, but I can say it was a very worthwhile modon paper it probably wouldnt show any power gains, but the car feels MUCH more responsive. I am very impressed
also the shaved heater lines tidy up the engine bay a bit
oh and a sneak peak at what ive been grinding away at slowly for the last couple weeks with the most ghetto home made tools you'd ever see haha
