Lot of work going on there, should turn out well though. Remember to give the engine bay a detail before it all goes back in!
I'd love to have the bay smoothed! but i'm just not sure i want to tackle that either haha, oooooohwee, i might get jack of looking at all that stupid sealant they use and scrape it all off i hope i dont though; I am however thinking i may paint the bay the same colour as my interior? . . . . it'll at least get a clean . . .
i may use ARP hardware yet, because i'll be raising the compression a wee bit . . . (not just from the gasket)
Your gonna need a tune for that otherwise your gonna be pinging like crazy , VR6 ecu is intolerant to extreme raised compression . Id recommend megasquirt in your application

The head work is done! No pics yet though I can say it looks delicious! lol.
Specs are as follows (or rather what i can remember): Supertech stainless nitrided oversized valves +1.3mm exhaust and +2mm intake, ported and polished to match the bigger valves, port and gasket matched intake manifold and trottle body, Manley Viton valve stem seals, Supertech dual valve springs, Supertech titanium nitrided retainers and a pair of Cat Cams 290's sounds yumm huh
I've also just dropped the bottom end and have handed it over to the shop to strip and then will discuss where to go with that. I've expressed to him that I want to bore out to a 3L with a bump in compression to around 11. But that will all be confirmed later.
Also to join the ranks of steves project 504, i managed to source myself a Schrick intake manifold from the states (sorry mate, though yours looks prettier being polished n all), used and complete for $1200 I really wanted to go itb's though the expense of setting that up will explode my bank account for the moment later down the track perhaps
hmm, what else, i've got so much to do and just when i think i'm all good, i'm not haha, am plugging away slowly and I honestly can not wait for this to be rolling out of my driveway

Haha nice work man
Looking good seriously I used to date 22 cans of degreaser on the engine bay and engine just cleaning and still not happy lol
Good work with the intake man nicely done.
The other VR that the missus's cousins has is going ITBs at $4000 shipped cause he is lazy as! You pretty much have the same specs as him Alex

$4000? from where?! Bildon is the only place i've found that does a "kit" and it was far more than that, if they even still do it? And where is this other vr! and no, he has the same specs as me haha
awesome work, its cool to see someone actually working a VR6
be careful with the extractors matey, the stock ones are said to work best because of the short, long, short, long style of the ports the guy i chatted to recons some people actualy LOST power by going extractors!
apart from the porn factor, your prob better off just doing a downpipe back exhaust!!!! (VR nuts correct me if i'm wrong here, but this is what i picked up from well known local tuner)
