Update: Exhaust is done, the extractors are fantastic and it sounds and goes great! Mind you, with the exhaust leaks gone, i can hear every creak and rattle... So I put a 10" sub in the boot to compensate
Hopefully I'll get the strut brace in in the next couple of days...
pics or ban
VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life There are few things more satisfying in life than finding a solution to a problem and implementing it
My Blog: tinkererstales.blogspot.com.au
First a quick coat of gunmetal to some bits in the engine bay. Not a colour match, but better than rusty red lol
Then the clean-up job in the boot...
No pics of the sub/amp yet, I suspect it's responsible for my electrical gremlins, so it's been removed for the moment. I will put pics up after I make the fake floor though...
Car is still not running, I'm going to get it towed to the auto-electrician tomorrow, as I just cannot get the darn thing to produce a spark...
Took some night pics with it out the front of my house (as it won't start I can't drive it up the hill into the garage ) Apologies for the filthy state of it...
Wow I'm surprised to read this one John. This thread is one of the few reasons I've been checking up on watercooled forums since I sold up and moved OS. You've put so much time into this car- i'd be putting it on a train and taking it north with you if it were me! My $0.02
man, sucks that you might have to sell it. you gota do what you gota do thou. props for stating the negative points in detail [even thou they are tiny problems].
Well, I'm really just putting it out there to see if there's any interest in it. I'm not desperate, I suppose I could throw it on the train if need-be. Having said that, it would be nice to see the project go ahead faster than I can currently afford (time and money-wise) as it's getting frustrating not being able to make things happen...
I would love to take that car off ur hands but the car is too good for me to keep and prob out of my price range. It will be sad to see it go, hope it goes to a good home!
S*#T John! that just blew the wind out of me!!!
I think you should keep it..do what ever it takes but keep it!!!
I'd come get it....but I'm midway thru organising a large power boost for the new mk2..
damn damn damn!! this is a sad situation.......
Hope all works out and you can keep it mate,
Take care!
