It's the other way around - head from the MK2 GTI on a 2.0 block. You don't get a big power increase but the extra torque is noticeable and turns the (lazy Aussie spec) MK2 into a proper (by 1990 standards) GTI. Add the euro spec exhaust from a 2.0 MK3 and you get a few more hp.
By using the MK2 head you don't have to change any of the fuel injection parts so a very easy and cheap upgrade.
