Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

If you think its worth it...bring it!
Brought my motorbike out here last year...getting it here isnt too bad(takes a while), its the registering and plates to get it on road which I found a hassle.
Good luck if you do! Looks nice, havnt seen one since ive been here.

Congrats on your decision to bring it. When you see the dross on the roads here you'll realise why you did.

As it is now. Tyres need changing as they're BMW E30 sized. What size should I be going for?

Car is being cleared through customs as we speak. What do I do about driving it from the customs house to home? (legally)

I was told its OK to drive it if you're going straight to the RTA to get it registered. So i'm sure you will be fine mate I got some funny looks when mine had the UK plates on it on the way home!!

Nice one on getting it shipped out here anyway, did you use a container or RO/RO in the end??
