is this for real???? i had a worked 1.9 running full aftermarket ecu with lots of mods in a mk2 and its was quick but not QUICK> how much power do you think it has,
Power is always relative to what youve been in before .
Best way to measure power is via rate of acceleration .
The only real factor then is going to be weight , as long as you traction .

i actually drove a mate's vr6 for a day last week. pretty tidy. and it has torque everywhere.
but driving this thing is fking ridiculous! k-jet is a big bag poop when the sensors are 20 yrs old and the loom is crustier than toast. to stop the pinging, the distributor is a lot more retarded than it could be and i pretty much have no power until 3 grand.
but from then it's all a bit crazy. I have to completely change my driving pattern to stay in the torque band. right now i think it's somewhere around 5-6 degrees static advance but yeah, if i'm not stuck in the <3000 rpm torque hole, this will eat stock vr6s...
Is the distributor regraphed ? Whats your max advance ?
All critical sensors should be changed !

yeah i should get on to that.
it was running about 32 - 33 degrees advance at about 4500 up to near redline.
to what preen said, that's exactly what i thought about doing. advancing the cam gear half a degree maybe for a bit of drivability. But we're going to need to do something about the idle...
if it's above 1500, it's fine and smooth, but above 1500.. if it's below it's like 700-1400 1600-600..etc ie lumpy as all hell.
The idea of some sort of individual throttling interests me because i'm lead to believe that the individual pressure changes from each cylinder pulse doesn't affect the others. which ---> better idle (also itbs... )
so yeah, i'm going to take some sort of plunge when uni holidays come around
i'm on uni break now so time isn't really of any essence.
megasquirt i've been kinda slack with, (read non existant) so i took another plunge of sorts.
the whole idea with megasquirt was so that it could idle with throttle bodies, but hopefully with these it might do the exact same thing, only mechanically.
it needs a couple of linkage pieces but after that.
edit: i think i'm going to have to also play with the distributor. but that'll be a bit later

are you going to run the carbs as throttle bodies??? if you are why didnt you just get some bike iTB instead?
that doesn't make any sense!
he's running carbs, cutting out all the electronic bs

i have seen in the past people machining out a carb to fit an injector to run it as an ITB...because he said about running MS i thought that was what he was doing lol
hahaha. i just found out the most interesting fact..
the guy at techtonics tuning who i ordered parts from was colin.
apparently in the mid 90s, he ran a drag rabbit with and EV head on a 2.0 PL block with k-jet. the thing was stripped out to the max, like less than 700kg, but he was pulling high 12s on the 1/4 mile. holy jesus!!
i feel like less of a man for not sticking with k-jet now.
k-jet can work well, plenty of 2.0 16v's running back in the up between 180-200 bhp (@fly)
x2 K-Jet when tuned right is a fantastic system Problem is getting parts for it over here
