Nice... one, what numbers are we looking at? 135-140hp?

At a guess, with a 1.8 with that kind of work, you'd be looking at more like 150-160hp well tuned if the induction system is up to it.

Oh, and i hope you are going to use a head stud kit to hold the head down nice and tight considering the comp. I'd recommend one anyway. They're not that expensive....

Makes my car feel even slower, can't wait to see how this goes and Jay's feedback on it.

Yeah thats about right preeny. Probably go ARP stud set.
Beau the crazy Yank is in charge of building the engine. He has built a few in the states, so know the drill. Should be a screamer, plus will look stock under the hood

Sorry, but I fail to see how this will be more reliable over a standard engine?

I figure it'll be a grumpy engine, I've never considered grumpy lumps as being reliable. Wouldn't there be issues with such high comp?

I'm sure beau knows what he's doing, but I can't see it atm... ???

              what am I missing?

Never met the guy before, but if he is smart enough to be able to build an engine optimizing various parts from various engines, it shows he's a thinker. And that generally means he's good. I can't wait to see the outcome.

I love when people think outside the square.

It`ll be reliable because it will be a fully rebuilt engine, thus far superior to a much used golf engine.

It will be basically the same lump that came out as far as ancillaries and injection system are concerned, which helps it all go back together and work reliably.

If you are going 16v or 20VT for example there is a lot more work to be done on all aspects of the install, so more work and more time involved.

This should basically slot back in.

Beau is the best, I have total confidance in his work. If he says it will be fast, it will be. Jay Jay will doubtless let us know

Looking forward to seeing & hearing this.

What is the expected power loon?

My mild one made 130+hp, so this should be well above this.

Power output could be up to 185Hp, 13:1 Compression.
Depends how it pans out. I wanna let him pull the two engines down, 16v and 8v and then some decisions can be made

BP 100 with octane boost & Avgas only sort of stuff.

                        All on K-Jet too!

Is it going to a mech lifter head? If so, that's one monster cam.

Just out of interest. K-Jet's don't like monster cam's. The intake reversion upset's the airflap.

I`m not building it, just fitting it. As soon as I have some hard specifics, i`ll pass it on to you blokes.

We were talking 288 and solid lifter He reckons it works well with kejet, we`ll see.
