Cheers guys, the mk3 booster, 22mm master cyl and 256x20mm mk3 brakes are incredible! super happy with them.
Woody - keen dude! but might have already organised a 5speed...
Anyway, I'm driving out to Albury tomorrow to pick up a clutch off James to throw in this weekend as the current one is on its last legs and struggling to get into gear and slipping pretty badly, also picking up an electronic dizzy set up and front hubs/control arms. Being an early swallowtail the balljoints (presumably 15mm) are riveted to the control arms and since installing the new poly bushes on the control arms as well as the coilovers i have some slight positive camber on the front, and am really needing the slotted later model control arms to allow me to correct that as the camber adjustment on the strut isn't quite enough.
Anyway, long day tomorrow (8 hours of work followed by a ~8 hour round trip to Albury and back) working all weekend (6.30am-3pm on saturday) followed by doing the clutch and the control arms etc then heading out to get on the piss for stu's birthday
will post up some shots maybe possibly probably not but will be cutting and polishing the car and getting the carbs tuned and hopefully all will be done by GAD and it gets there in one piece

so, after quite a hassle, i have changed the clutch.
long story short, got a 210mm clutch/flywheel/pressure plate of james on friday, picked up a 5 speed out of a SEAT (thanks woody) and set about swapping it over (by myself)
managed to swap the boxes over but turns out the 210mm clutch I had picked up was a small spline and didn't fit the box, so swung past frenchy's and grabbed a brand new 210mm clutch kit (presumably to suit his 16v mk2) it was the larger spline and fitted up perfect.
now i blame woody for the next bit, as he assured me the SEAT 5sp had 90mm flanges. I found out it didnt when i went to bolt up the driveshafts.
anyway, came back the next evening and put the 4 speed back in with the clutch i'd gotten off james and all is peachy.
also got new trumpets and air filters and the car is in getting the carbs tuned, but despite that i dont think ill be making it to GAD
anyway, photos showing how everything played out

Can't believe I've only just looked through this properly - super jealous of your car and how much progress you've made in such a small space of time. It looks incredible. Massive achievement. Hoping to see it in person soon - maybe DOVW?2019 132TSI Tiguan
