Will give it a try, but think that may be pushing it.

It was actually advertised on the forum

Found some of the old log books and stuf in the glove box, didnt have a good look through them yet though.

Im going to give it a wash tomorrow and polish up some of the panels, the current paint doesn't actually look to bad.

          Will keep the updates flowing

Just had a look through the paper work, car was purchased on the 27th of January 77 and the one owner had the car until 2003 and the second owner had it until last year. Found an original brochure for the car in there also which im flatening out.

Cleaned up a section of the bonnet with a small hit of polish and the paint has come up really clean. Going to roll it out the back and was the whole car shortly.

The rust in the gutter is only superficial just cleaned it up then. Will post soem pics later.

The rest of the body seems pretty good, found a small rust hole in one of the quarter panels, only small though. One thing i will need to check out is the window surrounds, all the seals have been siliconed up as all the rubbers have shrunk so they could be an issue but judging by the rest of the car they should be clear.

                  Got a bit done...

Cleaned up the gutter rust, was just a bubble with one tiny little hole so happy about that.

Also debadged the boot and cleaned up some of the bubbles from around the holes. The boot has two coats of paint so looks like it has been resprayed before.

Think im going to pull all the windows out tomorrow and pull off all the side trims.

Already gone just removed it and all the side strips tonight.

Question, all the little clips that hold the side strips on, are they worth keeping? don't think i'm going to put the strips back on but I have never seen any for sale.

windows out tomorrow i reckon, maybe after i go for a super secret run down the street

You can actually get the little plastic clips from empi or someone, they are the same as beetle.

Worth fasteners also make an identical one.

A tip for popping them out, get a thin nail, and the back end of a lumpy screw driver and tap out the little "pin" in the middle, and then use some pliers to pull off the other part of the clip, it's alot easier than trying to yank off the whole thing... bit of WD40 won't go astray either

If you're going to weld up the badge and side stripe hole, I'll have a bit of advice for that too (cause I did it recently!)

Yeah that's right. If you need some i can sell you some. We've got like 8 billion of them at the workshop. .

I used the Wurth ones on my Goof. Worked a treat.

Pretty sure im not going to keep the side strips, so won't need them anyways, was just curious.

What colour is the car? been trying to look it up.

Will have some more progres shots today with soem luck.
