ill probably see your driving around once your build is done haha, if i could do anything to the car regardless of money i would do a vr6 swap, many horses come from that engine

My ultimate Mk1 Engine would be a supercharged VR5.
A little lighter, and a little smaller than a VR6, but it still puts out 125kw in standard 20v 2.3L trim + ~40% for the supercharger...

The VR5 in standard trim would still be a great drive too.
So much so, it's been done and loved by a few people already...

But what I'll probably end up doing to mine will be to add the supercharger off of a 4AGZE on to my standard 7.0:1 1.8L JH engine...
This should provide some nice usable power with minimal changes to the car.

If I could build what I want and money was no object:

Mk1 2door with a Audi S3 quattro transplant making it a good track/street car to use.
For a better ride, go WIDE!!!

that 4 door is beautiful, its really all down to how much work you want to put into the swap to be honest. If i ended up doing a swap i would probably try to fab up all the mounts myself and knowing me they would all be just a few Mm's off what theyre supposed to be hahaha

i wasplanning on swapping an audi 80 motor in because they require minimal changes to the bay and they put out quite a bit of power. didnt do it though because they were around $1500 for a pretty crappy engine

Vinnies / Salvo's could be a good spot to get the shawl from...

Maybe you could ask your local taxi driver for where to get a beaded seat cover? lol.

Alas I am back in the land of public servants and round-a-bouts. nothings happened since last week because ive been gone however plan to get the driveshafts back on during this week and the rest of the interior in aswell, just waiting for the new seat glides to come.

still need the radiator hoses however i dont know what hoses to buy from gap, i was getting 4 of the hoses from redmk2gti however i think that has fallen through because the reception was so bad where i was that i couldn't receive the bank security code so ive now been locked out of internet banking... any help with the hoses is much appreciated

                    Cheers

                    Reid

Ring your bank to get the lock out cancelled. The same thing happened to me last week and 10 min later all was OK.

Sent you PMs, you don't need that many hoses, some of them are for GTI only.
