The story doesn't end there, once the rego runs out it will finally be treated to some love. I'm taking the body to my friends house who will sort out the rust and bodywork, and we'll have to work out the paint situation. The engine, I'll probably get the 1.5D rebuilt. I want to find a 1.9TD IDI from a Mk3 but finding a diesel Mk3 whether IDI or TDI is almost impossible.
Epic story haha, boy oh boy do i remember those after work "working on mk1 to get it ready for a show" sessions haha! Glad to see it didnt burn down, and the last pics are pretty period correct! Looking good man

Thanks man! I'm glad too haha. Yeah I'm all about "day 1" mods and appearance. As in, how it would've looked if I modified it when it was still new with period correct things and appearance
Oh and another oddity about the rusty $20 diesel, if any diesel nuts are reading. The pump on it has two springs, the normal one and one which gives more resistance at more throttle input. I've never seen this on a Mk1 pump before and am quite curious if anyone knows about it.
Not much has changed, took the bumpers off and moved the foglights. Also cut most of the front of the airbox off for more intake sound, but it was way too loud so I ended up changing it back. I also got a beige guard to replace the super rusty drivers side one
I then decided I wanted to sell it, like an idiot. So to make it look less dingy I put the bumpers back on, and fell in love with it all over again. So I've decided not to sell it again haha.
I also got a single postal light for cheap, I figured with just the one I can use it as a rear fog
Also wish it was all one colur.....one day I guess.
