  • Not a huge update, got sick of the faded grey bumpers so I picked up some old dented rusty chrome ones. Straightened them out, painted the front one black to hide the imperfections, put it on and realised it looked like absolute **** haha. So I painted my grey ones black instead.

Then today, I got sick of the badly painted steelies so I re did them, as well as washing and waxing the old boy

        • It does look good.

Looks like your neighbours are as close as mine. Got to love having a bit of space to live.

            Cheers man!

Yeah having space is great but going places is a pain, rural driving sucks haha

            • Bought some cheap foggies, wired them up and used an old demister switch as the switch because it kind of looks like a foglight lol. Also got some chrome trim rings for the wheels to spruce it up a bit.

Height compared to a Golf we're stripping, no springs at all lol

              And my new sticker

Wow. Nice find! Great thread mate! You're perseverance is impressive. I've tried project cars in the past only to get put off by small roadblocks, it seems nothing slows stops you.

Hey thanks man! Means a lot

So yesterday we organised a bit of a Mk1 cruise. Was supposed to be about 5-6 of us but a couple bailed and one went home with a noisy wheel bearing. For us that stayed though, it made for some great pics

The one on the left is Timmy's Golf from the People's choice ad, and is a beast with a fully worked 1800 on twin 45 Webers. The one on the right, well, photos just don't do those wheels justice. Was amazing cruising through the hills with the two extremes of Mk1 modification

I love this shot, three wide down the freeway. Was an amazing experience and I can't wait for more of us to be out next time! Big thank you to Taylor from Team floG Motorsport for being our camera car in his Mk4, video is on the way

You need to get out the angle grinder and cut down your springs though, make it look less sit up and beg and give it some attitude.

                                Cheers
