Gonna run it totally standard... another reason I decided to scrap the 16vT at the last minute. I woke up one morning and recalled how nicely my Mk1 ran in factory spec (gee, I sound like an old man now). I actually have no idea how nitrous runs with direct injection, but if it's a nono, I'll have to eBay the kit! I've never been interested in nitrous until I went in an XU1 with just a 50-shot the last week and it made me laugh out loud!!!

Gonna hang onto it - 16vs (even one with 68k) aren't worth enough to sell. My brother's partner is selling her Mk1 to me next year, so I'll probably put it in that and use it to take my dogs to the beach :p

Direct injection S3 engine huh? Very nice. Should go quite well. What's the difference it weight?

I'm guessing the engine weight is much the same, but the transmission will be a lot heavier

It still will be a 16vT, just of the more modern variety

I'm pretty sure it's a K04 as per the old S3/TTQ 20vs, but I'm not changing a thing. Still way too much power in a ****ty old FWD, but good fun all the same

                        • I just spent the last hour reading through everything. An hour well worth it I'd say.

What a beauty! That's all I can say. One of the nicest VW's I have ever laid eyes upon. I'd be really keen to see some more pictures and/or videos though. Seeing as this thread hasn't been updated in the past year and a half, what's happened since?

                            • I posted an update about this car in a separate thread only recently. It is significantly different to the pictures here now (and a lot better!). I'm still waiting for the wheels to finally arrive (along with a few final parts for the engine)... and then I'll post some pics. It's gone through three wheel changes so far :-p

When are you moving to Melb? Are you going to get involved in the scene over here?
