Hahaha yeah it does look similar to an EG one, its from a Daihatsu Charade! Surprisingly i only had to cut the tabs off the side and the back to be able have enough room to use the window winders. Still not perfect but its a good enough attempt at a swap for my first time haha. Will be mounting the brackets on the weekend and trying to get the cluster to work Keen!

howd you go fitting the mk3 wiper motor? do you just cut the connector off the mk1 one and match up the wires colour to colour from the mk3 harness?

Exactly that, the colours are the same on both connectors. Super simple swap and crazy faster

Very exciting, bought a new battery for her and got my package from Veedubmachine which containted a brand new ignition switch. With those to parts replaced the golf new starts and runs awesomely. Package also came with sweet ass gearknob, seat rail guides and my chrome JOM handles which aren't going to fit as they didn't come with the backing mount. Am going to email them and ask for help however.

Now i noticed i haven't really posted and chassis pictures of the new golf so this post will be a little picture heavy. I have taken pictures of the rust and a rough mockup of the dash ! Sort of got the new cluster to work, little confusing but give me time and it will all mostly be working.

Also took it for a little drive up the street (shhhhh). So keen to get it done and regod now..

They are Cheviot rims, not sure the model name. 13x7 also unsure of the offset. Got them with the car, they should be the wheels ill be running when i get everything else sorted

Got my speedometer cable custom fitted with the daihatsu end. It works but is about double what it should read.. Any body know of a fix..? Just not sure about the gears that go into the gearbox being interchangeable/universal as well.. Also got a daihatsu fuel gauge sender and replaced the mk1 one with it, first time welding so its all a little sketchy but works pretty accurately.

                              Dont judge my handywork! hahahaha

Coolant temp doesn't want to work for me at the moment either, will double check connections tomorrow. I will be putting in a aftermarket gauge for it later on anyway.
