      • George, there is a product called, weld thru primer. specifically for use in welding applications, for use between seems, underneath things etc.

        • I've asked around for weld thru primer, but no local shops seem to have it dude. Maybe not looking hard enough.

Been pretty busy lately and with tomorrows "REBUILD" show on (charity event for the Philippines) I had to get the civic ready today for it.

Anyway always wanted to do it just haven't had the time or idea how to pull it off. What I'm talking about is a Miracle X bar. I'll have a small half cage, but thought it would be pretty cool to have one of these in there, and no mk1 has had one before so I had to design it all first. Its all just for bling bling and whatt ever extra structural strength is added .. I guess.

          What I started out with

          Brackets

          Sorry for the crappy photo

Sitting it nicely, I have to go over all the welds, make sure everything is smooth and perfect - will get close up pics when its finished for anyone interested :S

Whats been taking up my day today, hopefully for a good cause and plenty money of raised to donate!

          • 100% sure there is a pressure pack product that is a weldable primer, i think 3M made it and also a few other mobs.
i've used it at work before and its worked a treat!

and the civic is way too high..

            • The Honda runs the same wheel stud pattern as the Golf doesn't it?

              Just thinking..........

                • Why does that not surprise me that you've already got awesome wheels for this car.

Keep up the great work George and keep us posted.

Your 2 beers are chilling nicely, ready for when you drive through.

                  • Hey all,

Been struggling to find any motivation with work commitments and all, just getting kinda hard!

Somehow ended up in the garage and put in a bit of work over the weekend. I made up a ghetto as bracket to fit the later model dash in. Don't laugh hahaha...... I've also decided I will be using my wooden nardi wheel when the time comes. Here is an idea

Have also bought some dellorto 40's! Pretty happy and finally got around to making up my mind where the air tanks will be mounted and how. Made up a board, and will sit the air compressors on it too. This will all be going in the wheel well. The tanks may look wierd, but it's just the pic haha

                      • The twin 40's will sound awesome. You get lousy fuel economy but nothing beats the sound of twins.

Keep up the momentum, even if it's just a few minutes every now and then. Eventually you get to the stage where you get all excited that it's finally getting somewhere and the next thing you know it's finished and you're on the road.

Nothing in the world beats that feeling. Not even scoring with the hot chick next door.

Well, OK, maybe she might score close.

                        Cheers

                        Paul

                          • Managed to pick up some pretty immaculate recaro seats for just over what I bought the damn car haha. The grey parts will be re trimmed to suit theme colour, while the black is in fantastic condition and all bolsters are prefect! Genuine recaro runners too, and I will make new seat rails next week! Chopping old ones out, and welding in new.

They are my all time favourite retro seats, so I'm super happy at this stage.
