I was getting over 800 in my MK2 and that's 120kg heavier than a MK1. You seriously need to look at your webbers or switch to fuel injection.1978 MK1 2.0 16v http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/foru...-46488-70.html

Hoping today clears out, want to adjust a few things.
Choke is stuck on and making the mixture rich.
Think airfilter is stuffed
Put a Radio in, cause damn it sucks not having one on long trips

So,
Loving driving around in a stock golf, fuel is amazing. 10L got me 110Kays of caining around town, and i got 120kays too 8L on highway
Though the clutch has been slipping alot last few days, got worse this morning. it would break loose and rev out in every gear under acceleration. Was only 3rd gear before.
So got the motivation to slap the 210mm heavy duty clutch in today.
All went pretty well, got gearbox back on. some bolts in.. sat down to have a drink and realised i had left the cover off that goes over the flywheel boltsSpeaking of, what does this do?
Havnt finished yet, but i got box in and bolted up, all mounts loosely bolted up ready to align.
and the reason clutch slipped... notice crack in flywheel!
Daughter gave progress a thumbs up
EDIT, no i didnt rest car on jack, there is car ramps and blocks of wood holding the underneath... Jack was there as back up<space for rent>
