  • Beige Be Born!

So, after some Negotiations i picked this little Sucker up.

Has been repainted once in its life, some spots has a run or two, and a few bits need a touch up.. Luckily i got a tin of paint, and my mates dad is a painter... BONUS!!

295k on clock, was a diesel and swapped to petrol some stage of its life.
1.6L 4 speed, runs great, stock golfs are so much fun

Pinched the Brake setup off the green golf for a while as i want it booked in for a Road Worthy on Monday next week.

Plans are, slam it on rims. Drive

    Pics,

Green one will end up sitting in shed for a while, i have spent so much and not gotten very far with it
And yeah, just going to daily the crap out of it... when im not transporting the family in Coon that is.. but quick runs, and shops.. for sure

                  Maybe

Oh and i did a first last night , i swapped seat bases.. one in the car was bent and putting the seat on a lean, and because the covering is perfect i had to swap it to a new base. 40minutes later i had a new seat

Todays plan is to get Headlights working, hoping its a easy fix, but ive already checked bulbs, tried different headlight switch, replaced fuses and checked the earths

Worst case is ill pinch the front wiring loom from green machine just to get it registered and ill redo the beige wiring at a later date. Being a ex diesel car it still has all the glowplug relay, wiring ect. which i have already cut out in the green one

If all goes well ill try have it in this arvo or tomorrow for a RWC if he can get me in

haha cheers, Do i get a pat on the back too??

More progress today, seems i have EVERYTHING working :O
Lights, indicators, interior light, you name it, it works

got a reverse light out, and i need to wire in a pedal switch for brakes.
Give it a wash, vacuum inside and clean all the windows.
Tidy up the engine bay a little more, bleed brakes and just double check everything.

Got it booked in Tuesday for a Road worthy....!!
Any tips? i think ive covered everything, How do they go about surface rust? my lower control arms, drive shafts, and few other bits in that area are surface rust effected. Should i just spray some Black Rust Killer on them bits?

Also the Heater plays up... 0 is off 1 is full speed 2 is half and 3 is low :S idea's?

never known anyone to worry about surface rust on the undercarriage. I thought you were joking at first!

It'll be fine - looks perfect.

                              Wanna sell it? haha
