After that it's just turning up some ends, TIGing them on, getting some rose joints and getting the suckers powder coated. I'm thinking satin black.. But you guys can tell me what you want.

No they are not. So you can claim one if you like. Then that'll be the 4 spoken for, it would seem.

I made enough ends for 5 today. Need to make a mandrel to bend the tube in the hyd. press now..

Hahaha. Give me tiiiime! I'll start on that tomorrow. (And basically have them finished, too)

Today I was working on Banshee.

Turned up a driveline coupler disengagement collar. Here it is before it was finished...

Hahaha. It's a lot more simple than it sounds. I'll explain with pictures (maybe in the resto thread) when i've got it mostly done.

              • More things sorted out today...

-First, I re torqued the head, 10% over spec. This was on Aydan's advice. Sure enough, as he said it would, the front RH two bolts when you're standing facing the engine took some more. About 1/8th th 1/4 of a turn!

-After that, i put some Greymax silicon on the RH half moon cam cover seal, as it was leaking a little.

-Fitted a new oil filler cap gasket.

-Fitted some new shifter cross arm bushes. While i was under the car (on the hoist) I was checking the gear linkage slop (It was pretty loose). I looked up and low and behold.. The cross arm bushes were missing! No wonder the shifter was sloppy. So.. I had a new kit there. Grabbed the bushes out of it and put them in. Made the shift 1000% better.

-Sorted out the camber. It was all over the place. The LHS had too much neg and the RHS had 6mm pos (difference top to bottom on a 13 inch rim). I sorted out the left first, then went about getting the right the same.

The bastards at Bob Jane Tmarts had done the camber adjustment/lower mount nuts on the shock up with a rattle gun! Really pisses me off when people do this. They were that tight I physically couldn't undo them by hand with a spanner/ratchet. Had to buzz them with the rattle gun. They'd tried to move the camber with the bolts done up and bent the tabs out on the nest for the adjusters, so I had to bend them back. Then I noticed that because they'd done the nuts up with the rattle jun, it had twisted the eccentric nut on the bolt and jammed it. This put me on the limiter and (I'll be giving them a piece of my mind next week). I unjammed the washer, beat the flat back down with a punch, filed the burrs off, refitted it all and set the camber. All sweet now.

-Fitted a new OEM GLS spoiler..

Also got the proto stress bar worked out. One end is welded in. The GLD is actually 686mm B/C.. Will need to make a jig so I can work out how long the tube needs to be and cut it off. Then I can get the other end welded on and test fit it before I make the others. This is basic engineering, but it's still a good practice to get one right before making a heap of them..

Can't say I appreciated a local tyre place lifting/jacking my car from the floor plan

                    Hahaha, cheers dude.

Yeah tyre joints seem to be good for fitting tyres and that's about it. If I can, I usually just drop the wheels off. It really sucks that you can't trust people.

I don't have any spares.. But I am currently deciding where to source them. I'm going to go to the local joints first and see what deal I can get, otherwise I'll look online or in Sydney etc.

                        • Probably going to source the heim joints out of the US. (Too expensive here).

If you need some, Alex.. Let me know.

Had a fuel leak today. The block off hose on the 4th injector came off and it was pissing out of it.. Really bad! Some pneumatic line and a 4mm dowel soon had it plugged up though. Sorted.

Haha.. Diesel is still a fuel.

Cheers mate. I'm pretty happy with it now. I'll be 100% stoked when I can get rid of the self-induced (Only ever did it since i've had the pump apart) surge it has.
