        • so decided to try and make up a door this arvo, having never attempted this before...

surprisingly i got very far with the drivers door, i'm assuming MK1 doors would have to be one of the simplest setups in the world.

yesterday i gave the door seals a light sand and a por15 once over and then today I have practically completed 75% of the driver door lol not bad for a first effort...

the water proofing plastic from the donar car is shot...does anybody have any suggestion for making up a new one...i was thinking of getting some plastic sheeting from bunnings and using the door card as a template???...should be fairly simple..

can really begin to to see the end of the build when the doors start coming together...other than tidying up a few bits and pieces in the engine bay and a few bits on the body the interior shouldnt take too long, however i still need headlining and carpet...

          • MK1 doors would definitely have to be the easiest to work on, in my experience anyway!
You do anything with the regulator chain/cord things? Like soak them in something to lube em up?

            • yeah i gave the regulator a good bit of wd40...i think the plastic water sheet i made up is a bit small cause now the door card is wavey hmm

              • was chilling in my backyard today and thought the car was looking pretty tough so i took a few photos.

might drop it a bit more in the ass but i'll wait and see what happens when the boot/interior goes in

                • To clean your filters get a bucket and soak them in mineral turps and let then dry in the air they should come up sparkling. Then remember to re oil with filter oil.
You will be amazed just how much dirt comes off them.

made some good progress today...got all the dash wired up and the cluster all working...lay the dynamat sound deadening and started cutting out the carpet underlay....should have the carpet in soon and then off to headlining....
