a guy out at eastern creek in NSW. did a very tidy job and was very affordable. if your in a rush however, probably not the guy to go to...took approx 10 weeks.
so the top end is all done, still have to tidy up the bottom end...i want to give the block a clean and a paint as best i can...also considering getting a new water pump as it looks pretty well used?...
one of the threads in the gearbox holes is shot and the bolt doesn't bite so i will have to get it re-threaded...
bought new water pump today, thought it would be a simple swap...but the internal diameter of the original pulley wheel is much larger than the fitting on the new pump so the wheel/pully doesn't line up with the holes, nor do the bolts/washers...anybody got any ideas?
i will probably ring vw tomorrow and see if i get a later model one and see if it's any different....
