The non starting issue has had the following diagnosis;
Remove 1 spark plug, car winds over intermittently more frequently than with it in
Remove 2 spark plug, car winds over slowly
Remove 3 spark plug, car winds over as it should.
Not sure what this is telling me.
I had a return line from the accumulator to the tank fall off with a full tank of fuel on Friday. Luckily I have small hands and managed to jack the car up last night and re fit the hose without needing to drop the fuel tank. I will be keeping an eye on it.
Other tasks included, removing the rear seat and sealing the inspection port for the pump so I get less fumes in the cabin.
So I continued on the fuel theme and adjusted the fuel pressure down from 3 to 2.5 BAR. The car is more responsive and less fumes - idles steadily too. It has a stutter/miss/fuel issue at about 5-5.5K but then overcomes it and pulls to 6800 (and makes a mad racket at that point).
Sounds like I may have a RHS ball joint coming on, the noise over speedbumps is increasingly concerning.
I installed a replacement dash light in the MKII cluster, I can see the speedo at night now.
Got a MKII heater controller and that is great. I am now missing the control sliders (the bits that you touch when you slide that clip in through the fascia). At least I can turn the heat off now from inside the car.
The boot liner was wet, seems I have not sorted the leaks from the tail lights yet.
Tonight I installed my DigiFast 2 chip and took it for a good thrashing around the block.
First impressions are that the car has decreased lag, before it was almost turbo-esque, but now although the the lack of power is still there, at least it was linear.
Bit rough on idle, but still have a coolant sensor, idle control screw seals and possibly an oxy sensor for that. It was better before the chip.
now a single light grille and some lowerage and you have a winner

I raised the suspension about 10mm on the rear also.
The night fell and I took it for a decent run, on the return after only 2 scrubs in tight bumpy corners, I am pleased. I think the car handles better than on the lower setting and older tyre/rims.
The wheels look great, cars feel so much more throwable when they're a bit higher don't they. Have you ever thought about trying the arch flares in standard satin black?
Looks like you could run lower profile tyres, which might sort out the scrubbage.

What should the tryes be? These are the same as the white lenso ones at 195/55-15. They are the same width too, only the et was 40 and now is 25!
New house is great thanks Al, feel free to bring up the family for a day if you like.
As for rolling guards and flares need trimming topic assume, how does one go about it?
The black flares could be something different hey Arno, are they hard to come by? Still trying to find a single headlight grille and black plastic bumper!
