Picking it up this Tuesday late arvo.
hopefully I don't find any evidence of any of these!!!!!

put my nice clean and polished chrome bars back on today! looks soooo much better!
Now just need to clean & polish the wheels, clean the interior & clean the windows, and I'm ready for DOVW!
for those interested. I grabbed a can of vanish Preen for large carpets the other day. (large pink can). its the stuff you shake and spray onto the carpet and leave for a couple hours and then vaccum off. cost like 8 or 9 bucks, and the results were pretty good, the carpets seem alot cleaner and less grimey. So for anyone wanting to spruce thier carpets a bit, I'd say, take out the carpet (yes, remove it from the car) grab two cans, go nuts and cover all the carpet with the foamy stuff, and then vaccum it off later on. should bring most grimey old stale carpets back to something resembling decent. not too bad for $15 bucks and half a days work.

fixed my Weber return spring....after a visit to Vicroads in Carlton yesterday afternoon(to change engine no's), the beast revved to about 8k+ before I could kill it (going down Queen St. in City too !!!)
turns out my man who rebuilt the carby, hadn't used especially good(read thick-enough) steel for the return spring bracket, and it snapped.
luckily I managed to clip the end of the spring onto the firewall, to get me home.....must think about carrying some tools...it is a Mk1 afterallChildren(VW) who have left home, among others:1966 VW 1300 Deluxe Bug(Harbour Blue)1966 VW 1300 Steel Sunroof Bug(Ruby Red), 1971 VW 1600 S Bug(White) 1972 VW 25th Ann. Some cable times at the minimul Mark!
but yes, a few spare tools always come in handy. Mind you, I've only ever needed them when I didn't have them! (irony much?)
