Cheers! Didn't need any modding, more persuasion..it's quite rigid and didn't want to give into some of the clips..got there in the end.

            • new radiator fan+shroud. originaly out of golfloons 'rocco didnt quite fit but some cutting and brackets later it's all good. no more embarrasing noisy car after turning it off.

also grabbed one of the big gti front 2 piece spoilers.... not sure if i like it though...

oh and my 14" whitewall inserts arrived today.

              • The Spoiler should look good on your car mate,
I got one on my yellow golf and it suits it so well with the chrome bumpers.
On my green one it looked lost cause of plastic bumpers and how dark the area was cause it was green.

I reckon those spoilers look cool too, hopefully you don't loose it on the bumps.

                    • The power leading to the choke and run-on solenoid to the carbie decided to fail yesterday, so the car was just stalling on me at idle. Worked out the issue and rewired it straight from the positive on the coil.

Car now idles which is handy

That from my experience it is a pain to figure out, ie. after disassembling the entire carb - haha.

Dunno about you guys, but thats the first thing i check when a car that used to idle, stops...

Few years ago i had same problem on a gemini, replaced carby, coil, points, everything... turns out the wire had snapped for to the solenoid

                            • I won't lie, I made a quick phone call to a mate who is in the know who said it would be that or the rubber seal between the carby and manifold is old an cracked. I checked power to the solenoid first
