  • you are allowed to remove rear seats but you have to remove the seatbelts as well I think. Its only legal if you then go to vicroads and have your car registered as a 2 seater.

    • New clutch, rear main + gear box + pushrod seals, (amazing sounding) mk3 starter motor, poly front mount and got it starting from the key (huge pita).

      also gave it a wash and a good hiding on the M5 back from Camden GTI! thanks guys.

      • freed up the damn solenoid since its been sitting for a few months and didn't want to play the game, got it started with a "little" tap but thought what the hell, got a rebuild kit and nw it is brand new.

        • Well i only drove it to the shop and paid but i now have a fully sick stainless system from hitech in surry hills. not cheap but does have a 10yr warranty.

          Now the golf just has to last that long hahah

          • fitted new strut tops, which (finally) arrived 3 weeks after buying them off one of our forum members!!!

            Was going to drop the front a tad more for SEDF, but bahhhhh comfort over looks won, besides there's a few other changes on the beast since DOVW anyway....

            • Actually did some work on it!! by work i mean pulled some more stuff off it to prep for body work. Took a long hard look at the engine bay, trying to decide how much i want to delete and shave

                • Got the coil replaced, and wow! what a difference a propper spark makes (yeh, I know, stating the obvious )

                  Much better throttle response now, crisp.

                              • Still sorting out some mounting issues with the front swaybar...

                                So, I got a short shift kit with weighted throw, which now makes clutchless gear changes a breeze.

                                This Mk1 just got more fun to drive
